Today I ran across this piece. Couple of quick points:<br /><br />1). Holy Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him provided guidance for such a time:<br /><br />Islam will have three centuries of greatness after which, it will ascend back to the heaven for a<br />thousand years. (Bukhari, vol. 4).<br /><br />The Holy Prophet saw has said: “There will be a decline in religious faith and nothing would be left of Islam except its name and nothing would be left of the Holy Quran except its text. Mosques though full of worshippers will be empty of guidance. The religious scholars will be the worst creation under the canopy of Heaven. (Mishkat-ul Masabih, p.88 &amp; Kanaz-ul Ummal, vol.6 p.43).<br /><br />Have we reached such a time?<br /><br />2). Secondly, such books and messages unequivocally rejecting violence in the name of Jihad do exist. Read Murder in the Name of Allah, http://www.alislam.org/library/books/mna/index.html <br /><br />published in 1955<br /><br />and before that:<br /><br />“Islam is such a religion, which does not need the support of sword for its propagation. Rather, the inherent excellences of its teachings, its truth, enlightenment, reasoning, arguments, and the active assistance of God the Exalted, the signs, and His personal attention are such matters that always drive its progress and propagation…The message of Islam does not need any compulsion for its propagation… ....In England, France and other European countries, Islam is very harshly criticized to have been spread by the use of force… The real truth is that this rebellion has been spread by the Maulvies (Islamic clerics), who are the unwise friends of Islam. They did not understand the reality of Islam, and provided an opportunity to others to raise objections because of their concocted beliefs. The beliefs concocted by them greatly aided the Christians.
